About the Opportunity TOPTAL CARE Inc is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) for a 13-week travel assignment at a nursing and rehabilitation facility in Camden Maine. This leadership role is ideal for a strong nursing professional with proven experience in managing clinical operations regulatory compliance and nursing staff performance in long-term care or rehab settings.
Key Responsibilities -
Provide overall leadership and clinical oversight for all nursing services within the facility.

Manage daily nursing operations staffing levels scheduling and workflow to ensure high-quality resident care.

Ensure compliance with all state federal and local regulations including CMS and state survey requirements.

Recruit train mentor and evaluate nursing staff to maintain clinical excellence and accountability.

Develop implement and enforce nursing policies procedures and quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with physicians administrators and interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes.

Monitor clinical documentation audits incident reports and corrective action plans.

Oversee infection control programs patient safety initiatives and emergency preparedness protocols.

Participate in budget planning staffing optimization and efficient resource utilization.

Act as the primary nursing representative during surveys inspections and audits.
Required Qualifications -
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maine or compact state).

Proven experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing in a nursing rehab or long-term care facility.

Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance survey processes and clinical standards.

Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.

Ability to commit to the full 13-week assignment including every other weekend.
