About the role

The Projects Manager is responsible for the effective administration leadership and delivery of all activities under the Military and Veterans Psychiatry Training Program (MVPTP) and the Psychiatry Workforce Program (PWP) funded by the Australian Government.

This role provides strategic and operational oversight of program delivery including the management of training posts and associated support projects. You will ensure high-quality outcomes strong stakeholder engagement and compliance with contractual and funding obligations while leading a small high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead coach and develop Project Officers fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional capability and growth.
  • Develop and oversee project documentation budgets implementation plans and government submissions working collaboratively across the organisation.
  • Plan deliver and evaluate MVPTP and PWP projects ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and program objectives.
  • Proactively manage project timelines milestones risks and dependencies exercising sound judgement and decisive leadership.
  • Support effective project governance through engagement with RANZCP committees and working parties ensuring clear decision-making and accountability.
  • Prepare and present high-quality reports briefings and financial updates for the Board committees and senior leadership.
  • Administer Commonwealth funding agreements in partnership with the Contracts Manager ensuring compliance probity and effective use of resources.

What youll bring

  • Expertise in project management with a record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Tertiary qualifications in health science business or a related field are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams to deliver successful projects.
  • Experience in liaising with and reporting to government departments.
  • Demonstrated experience in project evaluation and reporting.
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or valid Australian work rights.

  • Base salary ranges from $101000 to $120000 Super 12% Salary Packaging (up to $15899 p.a tax-free) commensurate with skills and experience.
  • Hybrid working model (2 days office / 3 days WFH).
  • 37.5-hour week plus a paid day off each month.
  • 12 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave.
