What you will be doing

We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to support proof-of-concept (POC) technology initiatives and the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems. As a Software Engineer Intern you will work closely with senior engineers and product teams to build test and improve full-stack applications that power WhiteCoats digital healthcare platform.

On a day-to-day basis this means you will:

• Support the development of POC projects to evaluate new technologies frameworks and ideas.

• Assist in building and maintaining full-stack features including frontend components (JavaScript) and backend services (Java).

• Fix bugs improve performance and enhance reliability of existing applications.

• Write clean maintainable code and contribute to code reviews and technical discussions.

• Collaborate with product managers designers and engineers in an agile development environment.

What we are looking for

Required:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.

• Basic proficiency in JavaScript (frontend frameworks such as React/Vue is a plus).

• Basic knowledge of Java for backend development (e.g. Spring or similar frameworks).

• Understanding of fundamental software engineering concepts (APIs databases version control).

• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Good to have:

• Exposure to RESTful APIs SQL/NoSQL databases or cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure).

• Experience with Git CI/CD pipelines or containerization (Docker).

• Prior internship school projects or hackathon experience in full-stack development.
