Job Description
The Radiation Therapist I work under the direction of the Radiation Therapist II Radiation Therapist III Radiation Therapy Coordinator Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physics team to carry out specialized procedure that focus on delivering high doses of radiation through the means of linear accelerators. Administering ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the special care required for patients of all age groups. Pre-treatment preparation of all cases; to include Daily Treatment CT Simulation Clinical Simulation and Emergency Simulation. Accurate delivery of prescribed planned course of radiation.
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program and registry eligible with ARRT. Certification: After ARRT certification is obtained licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
