Job Summary

As an Autonomous Vehicle Safety Driver you will play a critical role in the testing and development of next-generation autonomous vehicle technology. You will operate advanced electric and self-driving vehicles in real-world conditions helping ensure system safety performance and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for individuals with exceptional driving skills a strong safety mindset and the ability to remain calm and decisive in dynamic or unpredictable situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and lawfully operate autonomous vehicles to collect performance and environmental data.

  • Monitor vehicle behavior during on-road testing and intervene when necessary to ensure safety.

  • Conduct daily vehicle preparations including safety inspections and system readiness checks.

  • Remain alert focused and distraction-free while operating test vehicles.

  • Anticipate and respond appropriately to the actions of other drivers pedestrians and unexpected road conditions.

  • Collaborate with engineers riders and operations leadership to share observations feedback and insights.

  • Complete accurate and detailed reports to support system improvements and operational enhancements.



Requirements

  • Prior experience in roles requiring advanced driving skills and a strong commitment to safety such as:

    • Autonomous vehicle operator

    • Driving instructor

    • Motorsports or professional driving roles

  • Valid U.S. drivers license held for at least 3 years.

  • Clean driving record with no DUI drug- or alcohol-related offenses within the past 5 years.

  • Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.

  • Ability to anticipate hazards and react quickly and safely in adverse conditions or high-pressure situations.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to work in varying weather and drive on diverse road types.

  • High level of personal responsibility and ownership.

Required Education:

Bachelors Degree Preferred
