About the Job:

The practice of vascular-interventional radiography is performed by health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic therapeutic or research purposes. A vascularinterventional technologist performs radiographic and other procedures at the request of a licensed practitioner. Vascular-interventional radiography integrates scientific knowledge technical skills patient interaction and care resulting in diagnostic information. A vascular-interventional technologist recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure and exercises independent professional and ethical judgment. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Mission Philosophy and Code of Conduct of Elliot Health System.

What Youll Do:

• Perform vascular-interventional procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Vascular Interventional Practice Standards and the ASRT Code of Ethics.
• Understand and adhere to departmental exam protocols
• Actively participate in quality control and quality assurance activities using the APIE model
• Complete annual mandatory education requirements on time
• Prepare administer and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or institutional policy
• Serve as primary liaison between patients licensed practitioners and other members of the support team
• Remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication patient assessment patient monitoring and patient care skills
• Utilize independent professional ethical judgment and critical thinking.

Who You Are:

• Successful completion of an accredited Radiological Technologist program Required
• A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a diagnostic mobility Preferred
• Experience with biopsy procedures specifically stereotactic and ultrasound is strongly preferred
• Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Required
• Certified by ARRT in Radiology Required
• Ability to obtain BLS during employment
