Description of Work
Salary Range: $35984 - $62971Reporting directly to the Lieutenant I this position will provide supervision for subordinate officers regarding their assigned tasks with male offenders in a Medium Custody State Corrections Facility. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conducting shift line-up making shift assignments and inspecting personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post.
- Completing reviewing and maintaining time reports duty rosters leave schedules performance evaluations and administrative forms.
- Accounting for persons and ensuring that all assigned equipment is operationally ready.
- Rotating and various duty assignments within the defined level of work.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
- Knowledge of Facility Operations.
- Knowledge of Prisons Policy and Procedures.
Necessary Special Qualifications:
This is a full-time position working rotating shifts withState Benefits.

The salary grade for this position is NC07. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as or lower than their current position. If selected for this position a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience funding availability and internal equity. Based upon these factors a pay increase MAY result.

Richmond Correctional Institution is located in Hoffman North Carolina and houses up to 420 male offenders in a medium custody facility.
Minimum Education and Experience

High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience as a correctional officer
