The Nurse Supervisor coordinates the daily operations of the nursing department including but not limited to: staff scheduling program planning resource management quality improvement quality patient care and supervision/development of staff in accordance with all professional regulatory and accreditation standards.

Essential Functions

• Provides leadership through role modeling mentoring and coaching
• Collaborates with manager to recruit hire orient and train new employees
• Demonstrates ability in problem solving by analyzing each situation and assessing available resources.
• Formulates relationship with all departments to promote teamwork.
• Directs activities of the department in accordance with hospital policies objectives and applicable local state and federal regulation.
• Acts as a resource person for patients families and hospital and medical staff.
• Assists with direct patient care to ensure safe and effective care in all urgent and emergent situations.
• Demonstrates proficiency in critical nursing skills
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by calculating staffing needs based on acuity and emergent situations to ensure the most efficient and effective use of staff.
• Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Mission and Core Values
• Collaborates with manager to conduct annual and ongoing appraisal of employee performance communicates job standards and expectations
• Assist implementing measures of quality improvement to align with key performance indicators.
