Job Summary
Eurofins is seeking a Protein Characterization Scientist to support a client team focused on developing robust and efficient purification processes for recombinant proteins and other biological therapeutics across early to late-stage development.
In this role you will work in a collaborative environment performing analytical characterization monitoring and evaluation of inprocess samples. You will play a key part in optimizing product recovery improving impurity clearance and supporting data-driven process improvements. This position involves routine analytical testing and requires strong expertise in biochemical and chromatographic analyses including HPLC (HIC RP SEC) and Octet. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented self-motivated and capable of independently managing workflow and taking initiative on new projects.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Strong background in protein chemistry protein analytics and bioprocess technology
- Expertise with analytical chemistry tools including separation chromatographic spectroscopic and other detection techniques used to characterize and monitor protein purification processes
- Hands-on experience with UPLC/HPLC (SEC HIC IEX affinity) and Octet assays
- Experience with SDS-PAGE ELISA and laboratoryscale protein purification/chromatography is a plus
- Working knowledge of Empower and/or ChemStation is strongly preferred
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality data supporting product development through early clinical phases
- Analyze and interpret experimental results and use scientific judgment to support process evaluation
- Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks and databases in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices
- Lead routine instrument calibration maintenance troubleshooting and minor repairs; interface with internal teams and vendors to support safe and effective laboratory operations
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Biotechnology Biochemical Engineering Analytical Chemistry Chemical Engineering or related field
- BS with 24 years or MS with 02 years of relevant experience
- Experience with HPLC (SEC HIC RP) protein purification and Octet analysis
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow controlled laboratory procedures to produce reproducible data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant data analysis software
- Ability to learn new techniques multitask effectively maintain accurate records and follow organizational policies
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and within team settings; demonstrates initiative adaptability and a positive attitude
- Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

The position is Full Time Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Andover MA are encouraged to apply.
