RTX is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer I to support the Patriot Software Program focusing on Patriot software integration tactical software disk creation and testing. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative fast-paced environment contributing to the development and integration of cutting-edge defense systems. This role provides the opportunity to work hands-on with mission-critical software and hardware in a state-of-the-art lab environment.

As a part of the Patriot Software team you will help ensure the delivery of high-quality reliable software that powers one of the most advanced air and missile defense systems in the world.

What You Will Do

- Perform software integration and testing in a lab environment to validate the functionality and reliability of Patriot software.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers software developers and test engineers to identify troubleshoot and resolve software issues.

- Develop and execute test procedures and test cases to validate system requirements.

- Analyze test results and document findings to identify system performance and functionality gaps.

- Support the development of automated test scripts to streamline the integration and testing process.

- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation including test plans procedures reports. and drawing pages.

- Work under the direction of senior engineers while gaining hands-on experience in software development and testing methodologies.

Qualifications You Must Have

- Bachelors degree in computer science Software Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.

- This position requires 12 months or less of professional experience (excluding internships).

- Experience with software programming languages such as C C or Python (academic or professional).

- Familiarity with software testing methodologies and tools.

- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

- Hands-on experience with hardware/software integration in a lab setting.

- Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) or embedded systems.

- Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.

- Familiarity with Patriot missile systems or similar defense systems.

- Prior experience with version control systems(e.g. Artifactory) and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira).

- Exposure to military standards or defense-related software projects.

This position requires on-site work in a lab environment.

Some travel and off hours testing (2nd or 3rd shift) occasionally may be required.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

The salary range for this role is 57200 USD - 108800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
