Job Title: Storekeeper Engineering

Supervisor: Manager Engineering and Technical Maintenance

1. Position Purpose (objective reason the role exists)

  • Ensures availability of spare parts for the maintenance department.
  • Ensures availability of consumable parts for the production department.
  • Ensures availability of calibration instruments for instrumentation technicians.

2. Main Responsibilities

  • Initiates purchase requisitions for parts to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Controls costs by obtaining quotes from multiple suppliers to secure the most competitive pricing.
  • Reviews quantities to be ordered to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Receives goods into the integrated management system (SAP).
  • Stores received items in designated locations and maintains order.
  • Keeps spare parts inventory up to date for cycle counts and periodic physical inventory.
  • Conducts rounds of satellite storerooms to verify inventory and collect Kanban cards.
  • Organizes the parts storeroom to facilitate easy location and retrieval of items.
  • Manages purchase requests to maximize efficiency and consolidate shipments when possible.
  • Verifies the quality and accuracy of received orders to detect potential errors and return damaged or incorrect items to suppliers.
  • Manages periodic shipment of instruments requiring calibration to external vendors.
  • Communicates with carriers regarding equipment transportation.
  • Ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements for ordered parts.
  • Proposes and/or implements ideas to improve the performance of inventory management tools on site.
  • Actively contributes to maintaining a safe workplace by applying HSE policies in daily work.

3. Key Professional Relationships (internal / external)

  • Maintains ongoing liaison with mechanics electricians and building mechanical technicians.
  • Maintains ongoing liaison with line operators and production technicians.
  • Collaborates with the purchasing and invoicing departments.
  • Maintains professional relationships with various suppliers.

4. Required Knowledge and Skills

Education
High school diploma required. Diploma in supply chain or logistics is an asset.

Languages
French and English

Experience and Specific Knowledge
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of the manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to work in a computerized environment
  • Knowledge of storeroom inventory operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask while ensuring required follow-ups
  • High level of organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry loads up to 18 kg (40 lbs)
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Kneel push pull and lift
  • Occasionally climb or descend ladders stairs and ramps
