MacGregor is now looking for a Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team in Örnsköldsvik where Design R&D and After Sales work closely together under one roof.

In this role documentation is a critical part of the product lifecycle. Your work will directly support complex technical systems used in over half of the worlds merchant fleet contributing to safe efficient and sustainable maritime operations worldwide.
YOU WILL
In this role you will be part of the Strategy and Lifecycle Management department and a global documentation team responsible for Operation and Maintenance manuals and Assembly and Installation manuals across several product lines with a primary focus on crane systems. You will work closely with design engineers R&D and other internal stakeholders. Much of the work is modular and reuse-based with a strong focus on structure standardization and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities include creating and maintaining manuals that meet high quality standards regulatory requirements and customer needs. Your main tasks include:
Creating illustrations for manuals and structuring technical manuals and modular documentation
Developing manual content in close cooperation with the New Building Design department
Handling revisions and updates of existing manuals
Maintaining and developing documentation tools templates and working procedures
Uploading and managing manuals in PLM systems
Ensuring documentation complies with applicable standards directives and class requirements
You will report directly to the Technical Documentation Manager and be based at MacGregors modern office in Örnsköldsvik. The role follows a hybrid working model with three days per week on-site.
YOU ARE
To succeed in this role you have a Bachelors degree in Technical Documentation or another relevant engineering discipline combined with at least five years of experience in technical documentation technical design or technical editing. You have a solid understanding of technical documentation principles drawing standards and structured information and are comfortable working in modern documentation environments.
You have experience using technical documentation tools such as XML based systems such as Arbortext XMl Editor and are familiar with PLM environments. Experience with STE and tools like InDesign Adobe Illustrator or IsoDraw for legacy documentation is considered a plus as is working with AutoCAD when creating or updating technical illustrations. You do not need experience with all tools but you should feel confident learning and navigating different systems.
As a person you are structured detail-oriented and solution-focused. You can manage deadlines independently work under pressure when needed and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are fluent in written and spoken English. Experience from manufacturing industries and working with mechanical products hydraulic diagrams or electrical schematics is a strong advantage.
