JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:Emergent Bilingual Parent Liaison (Title 3)
REPORTS TO:Director of Multilingual Programs
WAGE/HOUR STATUS:Exempt
PAY GRADE:AI2
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Emergent Bilingual (EB) Parent Liaison serves as a vital bridge between families of Emergent Bilingual students and the school community. This position supports family engagement strengthens school-home communication and ensures that parents of EB students have access to the resources information and support needed to help their children succeed academically and socially. The EB Parent Liaison collaborates closely with campus administrators teachers and district programs to promote culturally responsive practices and family partnerships

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language relevant to the school community.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in Emergent Bilingual (EB) programs such as bilingual and ESL instruction or related services.
- Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse families and staff.
Preferred:
- 3 Years of working experience with Emergent Bilingual documentation
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient and ability to run creating and disseminating reports from the Student Information System
- Extreme attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Knowledgeable of state and federal accountability standards for Emergent Bilingual students
- Working knowledge of the Internet Microsoft Office Google Drive and an aptitude for learning other software.
- Effectively read and interpret information present numerical data in a resourceful manner and skillfully gather and analyze information
- Strong organizational and people skills and ability to work as a team member
- Understanding of Chapter 89 and its implementation in regards to language programs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Facilitate communication between families of Emergent Bilingual students and school staff ensuring information is accessible accurate and linguistically appropriate.
- Organize and lead parent workshops trainings and informational sessions related to EB programs student progress community resources and family engagement strategies.
- Support families with EB students in navigating school procedures academic expectations and available services including translation/interpretation as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers counselors and administrators to identify and address barriers to student success advocating for EB student and family needs.
- Maintain documentation of parent contacts outreach efforts and program participation for parents of EB students.
- Build trusting relationships with families of EB students and promote a welcoming inclusive school environment.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of campus or district initiatives supporting Emergent Bilingual students and their families.
- Participate in professional development related to multilingual education cultural competence and family engagement for families of EB students
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility standing prolonged sitting some lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling. This position will require traveling within the district.
Mental demands: ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to interpret TEC and policy; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory; ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Extended hours may be required for the position.
