Job Summary

What youll do:

The Buyer is a process-oriented individual who has the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support the production schedule. The Buyer is responsible for procuring material at the best combination of cost quality and availability for both standard production assemblies as well as first time automation system builds from the Engineered Solutions group. The Buyer I must possess the ability to manage multiple projects at once and thrive in environments with quickly changing priorities. Additional details about what you will be doing includes:

  • Initiate purchase orders and manage revisions for parts and services based on demand generated through customer sales orders
  • Provide regular material status reports for multiple projects highlighting changes in material pricing lead times and other critical supply chain information to all stakeholders
  • Monitor report and update the status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials including timely resolution communication and mitigation of potential issues with material availability or delivery schedules
  • Coordinate material flows through product/bill of materials (BOM) changes obsolescence and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development
  • Secure and analyze supplier quotations negotiate prices and terms with suppliers recommend suppliers with respect to cost quality and availability/schedule
  • Support the engineered solutions group in compiling costed BOMs of low mid level complexity to satisfy cost estimates for new business

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 0-4 years of experience required
  • Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain related field and/or relevant experience in a Buyer or Supply Chain role preferred
  • Highschool degree or equivalent required
  • Prior experience using an ERP systems purchasing functions; SAP a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Excellent organization written/verbal communication and follow-up skills
  • Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to move/transport material up to 30lbs
