We are seeking a Project Manager/Staff Geologist to join our Midwest team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the management of day-to-day operations for subsurface investigation projects throughout Nebraska and Iowa including all aspects of the project life cycle such as proposal generation technical execution reporting and invoicing.
- Execute project work appropriate for experience level related to due diligence site investigation and characterization remediation and related environmental consulting areas.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to develop new clients and expand services provided to existing clients.
- Actively participate in professional and technical organizations appropriate for core skill set and client needs.
- Prepare reports by assisting with data compilation reduction interpretation evaluation and comparison to state and/or federal environmental regulatory standards.
- Positively interact with internal and external clients service partners and contractors.
- Promote a safety-first culture that values proactive measures and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other team members toward a common goal of providing client-centric services with high quality interactions and deliverables.
- Embrace and model the Atlas core values including trust mastery heart and life.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Soil Science Geology Engineering Geography or other applied science.
- Minimum 3 years of experience including a combination of project management field work data evaluation technical writing and QA/QC in the environmental consulting field.
- Working knowledge of procedures and methodologies related to due diligence site investigation remediation and environmental compliance.
- Experience with project management and participation in professional organizations.
- Experience with implementation and supervision of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting.
- Must be able to pass drug screen and motor vehicle background check.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Preferred to report to the Omaha NE or Waterloo IA office.
- May also report to surrounding offices in Kansas City KS St. Louis MO or North Platte NE.
Technical requirements:
- Experience with environmental consulting and regulatory requirements in Nebraska and Iowa.
- 40-hr HAZWOPER training and 8-hour annual refresher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Outlook Teams Excel and PowerPoint).
Other miscellaneous qualities:
- Excellent problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
- Excellent time management skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities on an ongoing basis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
