Job Description

Youll support roadway construction inspection through safety adherence daily reporting quality checks contractor oversight and compliance with contract and wage requirements. Core Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer with all roadway construction inspection duties and related office engineering tasks.
• Understand client needs and consistently follow all customer safety protocols.
• Complete required daily documentation including Inspectors Daily Reports.
• Perform inspections for quality workmanship including accurate field measurements of materials and products.
• Monitor contractor activities such as quality control traffic control and compliance with environmental requirements.
• Identify contract changes or field adjustments recommend actions to the Resident Engineer and ensure compliance with Prevailing Wage laws and labor regulations.

• Graduation from a four (4) year curriculum in civil engineering and a documented minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience in roadway construction inspection of highways or major public works projects
• OR a masters or doctorate degree in a Civil engineering curriculum or a baccalaureate degree in Civil Engineering and a documented minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience in office engineering or roadway construction inspection of highways or major public works projects
• Possession of a valid certificate as an Engineer-in-Training
• Experience working with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) standards specifications and Construction Manual and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) procedures
• Must meet internal requirements for operation of company vehicles throughout duration of employment and must maintain a valid drivers license and insurable driving record.
• Must be willing and able to travel to job sites sometimes for extended periods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite such as Word Excel Outlook and Teams.
• Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time and working in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold

• Compensation: $145600 - $156000 annual salary
  The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the states law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
