Job Description Summary

The Technical Leader is an individual contributor responsible for both technical work direction and leadership of teams in the Generator Rotor& Nonmetallic Materials CoE Engineering team. The technical leader drives technical decisions documentation and special projects including RCAs and cost out efforts. Works cross-functionally and collaboratively within Engineering Global Supply Chain and sourcing organizations to contribute to world-class Generator rotor products with a focus on the services work completed within Schenectady and other service shops. Translates concepts develops design ideas and implements change to further the quality design and expertise within the Rotor CoE.

Job Description

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Promote technical excellence and support rotor CoE through design/technical review participation lessons learned awareness and application with a focus on services rewinds
  • Define requisition activities meeting schedules and cost objectives
  • Ensure that the appropriate design analysis scope is followed
  • Interface with Manufacturing Sourcing Field Services and Installation personnel
  • Perform/Review Design Analysis
  • Support Cost Out cycle reduction and product quality enhancement projects
  • Possess an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of the Generator Design and manufacturing processes
  • Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achieved.
  • Implement initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of CoE to customer/business needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years design experience in Power Generation with a focus on root cause analysis and issue resolution
  • Demonstrated success in leading and working with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to build and energize high-performance teams
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to inspire and drive change
  • Customer focused mindset

Desired:

  • Proven knowledge of Generator products and strategy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Effective team building coaching and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to foster innovative ideas and solutions
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $113200.00 and $188800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: ineligible.
