The Focused Ultrasound Laboratory at Sunnybrook Research Institute is seeking motivated and responsible high school students to participate in the Focused Ultrasound High School Summer Research Program. This paid summer position provides students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in world-leading biomedical research laboratory. For summer 2026 students may also be placed on research projects in other laboratories within the Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences platforms at Sunnybrook.
Focused ultrasound is a cutting-edge non-invasive medical technology that allows treatment of tumours and other diseases without surgery. Our laboratory is internationally recognized for developing innovative technologies for image-guided therapy and targeted drug delivery with direct clinical and industry impact.
Students in this program will work alongside researchers engineers and clinicians from diverse backgrounds including physics engineering biology and medicine. The research environment is fast-paced collaborative and strongly connected to real-world medical applications and technology commercialization.
This position is ideal for high school students interested in science engineering biomedical technology or healthcare who are eager to learn and contribute in a professional research setting.

Comprehensive training will be provided. No prior laboratory experience is required.
