About the Role
Easterseals Florida is seeking a Licensed and Registered Occupational Therapist to join our Pediatric Outpatient Therapy this role you will evaluate and treat pediatric clients with a variety of developmental physical and sensory needs in a collaborative outpatient setting. Working closely with children families and multidisciplinary professionals the Occupational Therapist supports participation independence and functional skill development across home school and community environments. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled organized and passionate about helping children reach their full potential through compassionate and individualized therapy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete initial evaluations and re-evaluations for pediatric outpatient therapy clients
- Develop implement and update individualized treatment plans utilizing best practice and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
- Document evaluation results treatment progress notes summaries billing information and justifications for equipment payment and treatment within required timeframes using the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Establish implement and successfully work toward goals and objectives outlined in the clients Plan of Care
- Efficiently manage an assigned caseload while maintaining compliance with program and payer requirements
- Provide clinical supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as assigned
- Facilitate coordinated care by consulting and communicating with School Program staff Early Intervention staff case management team members parents/guardians and the Clinical Director
- Provide education training and support to clients and families to promote carryover of therapeutic strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (minimum requirement)
- Successful completion of the national Occupational Therapy examination (NBCOT)
- Current and active State of Florida Occupational Therapist License
- Medicaid and NPI numbers preferred
- Previous pediatric therapy experience preferred
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Willingness to work additional hours as program needs require
- Demonstrates integrity tact and sound professional judgment
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet approved driver qualifications to use a personal vehicle for program-related business
- Positive attitude toward individuals with disabilities and alignment with the Easterseals mission and philosophy
- Ability to meet approved driver qualifications (minimum age 21 with a good driving record) for occasional business use of a personal vehicle
