Role Overview
We are seeking an APP to join a dynamic Urology team at Advocate Sherman Hospital. This position is set in a dynamic fast-paced environment with a wide variety of urology cases. It combines both clinic and hospital responsibilities including managing consults assisting in surgical procedures and collaborating with physicians to deliver comprehensive urologic care.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8-hour shifts
After-hours call coverage rotating among APPs and physicians. Call rotation typically includes two days on two days off three days on plus one weekend per month.

Pay Range
$51.05 - $76.60Major Responsibilities
This position encompasses clinical care professional practice and leadership responsibilities ensuring safe high-quality and patient-centered outcomes.
Licensure
- Active Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Illinois.
Education and Experience
- PA: Masters degree or equivalent in Physician Assistant studies (effective January 1 2018).
- APRN: Masters in Nursing with current national certification in the appropriate specialty.
- Prior urology experience is strongly preferred but not required. Surgical or consult experience is a plus.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and patient engagement.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records.
- Current NCCPA certification (for PA) or national board certification (for APRN).
- Illinois Controlled Substance License within six months of hire.
- DEA registration eligibility and possession within six months of hire (may vary by site).
- Current BLS certification; PALS/ACLS certification as required by practice site.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours including on-call coverage to meet patient and organizational needs.
- Capacity to work under pressure in challenging situations and respond quickly to patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Routine exposure to infectious specimens and patients as well as potentially hazardous conditions.
- Competence in caring for patients across age groups understanding developmental and aging patterns.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently; patient handling equipment and team assistance required for heavier lifts.
