The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing the states public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education.

MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES:
Lead and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously coordinating cross-functional staff and ensuring timely successful completion of deliverables.
Strong knowledge of budget development financial reporting and allotment management with demonstrated ability to align fiscal resources to organizational priorities.
Advanced technical knowledge of network infrastructure including WAN LAN firewalls filtering wireless technologies and strategies for bandwidth optimization and security.

The SCI ensures that all North Carolina Public School Units (PSUs) have equitable access to secure reliable high-speed Internet sufficient to meet instructional and professional needs. Through effective and efficient use of federal and state taxpayer funding the SCI establishes common shared services and Cooperative Purchasing Agreements to maximize group purchasing power while still enabling local control in PSU technology decisions.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum and six years of progressive experience in telecommunications network analysis design or management with at least two years of supervisory experience;
or
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum and seven years of progressive experience in telecommunications network analysis design or management with at least two years of supervisory experience;
or
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and at least ten years of progressive experience in telecommunications network analysis design or management with at least two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
