Job Summary

Key responsibilities include:
  • Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs (heart rate blood pressure oxygen saturation temperature) and the patients level of consciousness as they recover from anesthesia.
  • Airway Management: Ensure a patent airway and adequate respiratory function intervening quickly if an obstruction or respiratory distress occurs.
  • Symptom and Pain Management: Administer medications such as painkillers anti-nausea drugs and fluids to manage post-operative symptoms effectively and keep the patient comfortable.
  • Assessment and Intervention: Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications check dressings and perform physical assessments. Recognize adverse reactions to anesthesia or surgery and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
  • Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and communicate effectively with surgeons anesthesiologists and other healthcare team members regarding the patients condition and care plan.

Requirement description :
  • 2 years PACU experience - REQUIRED

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
  • BLS (AHA)

STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS :
  • Michigan

ADDITIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : Must be active at time of submission
Weekend Requirements : Only on call weekends not scheduled
On Call Requirements : On call nights and weekends (rotation with current staff)
