As a Recruitment Consultant you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining a skilled and diverse workforce for the City of Edmonton. Leverage your expertise in talent acquisition and your experience in a unionized environment to assist clients in building a future city a city that has the benefits we enjoy today with new opportunities for the future. This position emphasizes outstanding customer service offering top-tier recruitment consulting support to managers supervisors and employees.
What will you do:
- Independently execute the full life cycle recruiting process that involve multiple collective agreements while meeting established timelines
- Act as a recruitment partner and a subject matter expert
- Develop an effective sourcing strategy to provide a continuous flow of qualified and diverse candidates in pipeline
- Comfortably maintain a project load of 30 open recruitment projects
- Partner in multi-disciplinary Human Resources team to develop approaches for problem-solving within client portfolio
- Interpret and advise Managers on collective agreement terms and conditions related to the recruitment and selection process
- Liaise with Union Business Agents to reach agreement for selection disputes related assessment tools posting waivers etc.
- Contribute to process improvements; provide input on an ongoing basis to enhance recruitment processes
- Other related duties as required
- A University degree in Business Administration Human Resources Humanities or a related field
- Minimum of three years of work experience within Human Resources ideally in a recruiting environment
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
Assets:
- Experience with high-volume recruitment
- Experience in a unionized environment
- Experience interpreting and applying collective agreement language
Skills required for success:
- Possess strong candidate and client management skills with a proven ability to influence
- Seek perspectives deal effectively with differing viewpoints and utilize an interest-based problem solving approach
- Experience with managing multiple priorities
- Experience advising on best practices and presenting creative solutions
- Ability to interpret and apply collective agreement language
- Resourceful self-motivated with a sense of urgency
- Attention to detail
