DescriptionThe Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Professional Nurse with broad knowledge and skills who acts as clinical leader in the daily functioning of the unit and oversight of quality patient care delivery in conjunction with or in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager.
ResponsibilitiesRoles & Responsibilities:
Assistant Nurse Manager / RN - Emergency Department - Full Time at Mount Sinai Brooklyn
- Assists the Nurse Manager and Director in assigning patient care activities for 75FTEs.
- Evening and Night hours with some flexibility.
- Reviews clinical performance of nursing personnel via anecdotal records conferences and evaluation process.
- Participates in the Department of Nursings and the Hospital Centers Quality Improvement Program
- Serves as a resource person for the nursing staff within the unit or other units.
- Serves as a preceptor role model in the clinical setting for staff and affiliating students. Participates in the selection of staff members who may serve as preceptors.
- Assists in the planning and monitoring of the unit budget in conjunction with the Director Nursing.
- Acts as a member of the patient care service and Leadership Team; collaborates with and guides the interdisciplinary team members in achieving patient outcomes.
QualificationsRequirements:
- Night and evening shift assignments
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing and Masters degree in nursing preferred CEN preferred
- Demonstrated competence in nursing leadership. Experience and demonstrated competency in applicable clinical specialty. Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional growth and development.
- Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State
