This position will assist in providing exceptional customer service to insureds agents carriers and our underwriters by completing daily workflow tasks that support the underwriting process including but not limited to organizing electronic files and folders preparing and issuing insurance documents rating data entry and assisting with communication between underwriters and customers.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare process and issue insurance documents including confirmation of coverage new or renewal policies endorsements reinstatements and invoices.
- Assist the overall underwriting process with operational support including collecting and organizing underwriting data and/or entering and organizing application/underwriting information into the insurance rating systems. This will include performing internet searches/research on clients as necessary.
Review applications documents reports and other relevant data to ensure the underwriting files are neat accurate and compliant with underwriting guidelines.
- Assist with communication between underwriters and customers including answering following up on and saving emails. This will include following up for insurance subjectivities; soliciting renewal applications; or creating and mailing letters notices or flyers as necessary.
- Assist underwriters and underwriting managers AVPs and VPs by providing administrative support for various sales presentations underwriting presentations or other marketing initiatives.
- Perform other general operations assistant related functions including checking organizing and sending mail; scanning and organizing various documents; and assisting with various accounting functions.
- Assist with the collecting organizing and/or processing of insurance claims and losses.
- Effective and professional communication with all staff customers and partners.
- Maintain company service standards by completing workflow tasks by due dates.
- Navigate and understand various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Area of Focus:
- Generalist This position will have the primary responsibility for creating and issuing insurance coverage documents including invoices binders policies and any subsequent endorsements for both new and renewal addition this position will provide operational support to underwriters including collecting and organizing underwriting data and/or entering and organizing application/underwriting information into the insurance rating systems with a focus on renewal business.
- New Business This position will assist New Business Underwriters by providing operational support in providing exceptional customer service on new business opportunities. This includes same day turnaround of insurance documents quotes and correspondence. This position includes collecting and organizing underwriting information data entry into rating systems assisting with email correspondence and assisting in the issuance of insurance documents.
- Program Specific This position will assist Specific Programs for both new and renewal business opportunities. This includes key functions outlined in the Generalist and New Business Areas of Focus in addition to assisting with program development initiatives presentation preparation and some administrative marketing support.
Education and Work Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
- Three years of work experience in customer service and/or administrative area preferred.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office suite the ability to type 40-50 WPM and the ability to quickly learn to navigate web-based folders and various insurance underwriting systems.
Strong customer service skills
