May also respond to Building Administrator per agreed protocols. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESKeeps building and premises including sidewalks driveways and play areas safe and clean at all timesPerforms required cleaning duties in offices hallways workshops lavatories classrooms cafeterias auditoriums libraries multipurpose rooms and stairwaysWashes windows walls sinks and fountainsCollection and disposal of refuse and recyclables from within and outside of the maintain records and prepare recommendations of needed supplies and materialsEmergency clean-up as a result of breakage vandalism spills or illnessFloor maintenance including successful operation of carpet extraction and floor maintenance equipmentMay perform or assist with minor maintenance work including but not limited to painting bulb changes white board installation furniture moves and similar tasks as and ice removal at doorways and on sidewalks as needed. (seasonal)Expected to be at work to address emergencies situation (such as flooding snow removal) unless otherwise excused by the Facilities overtime as required to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the custodial custodial closets storage and work areas clean neat in appearance and stock to appropriate tasks as directed by the Building AdministratorWork overtime as required to provide adequate coverage to support the goals of the heat ventilation and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel water and electricityChecks daily to ensure that all exit doors am open and all panic bolts am working properly during the hours of building the US flag at or before 8 a.m. on each school day and lowers it at or after 3:30 classrooms daily and dusts corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires hoses down and disinfects toilet floors daily and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year and more frequently if necessaryReports immediately to the principal any damage to school an appropriate plan of professional developmentPerforms other position related tasks as assigned by the Facilities Director/Custodial Team : The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. Ascending or descending ladders stairs scaffolding ramps poles and the like using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to Pushing. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw haul or tug objects in a sustained Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists hands and/or fingers The physical requirements of this position:Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move visual acuity requirements including color depth perception and field worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e. custodial food services general laborer etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e. security guard inspection etc.)The conditions the worker will be subject to in this worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
