Hours: M-F 12pm-8:30pm weekend rotations required. Some shifts may be required to be worked at our other locations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical/Phlebotomy -Perform approved specimen collection procedures point-of-care testing services and processing. Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition. Assist in special projects evaluations experiments or research.
Customer Service -Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to referred to/from transferred to/from or discharged from home unit. Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed. Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner. Promptly attend to requests and concerns.
Collaboration -Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Proactively adjust ones style efforts to complement those of others. Develop positive working relationships interact in a respectful professional manner. Share knowledge and/or provide support for team members. Contribute to and promote a positive and professional work environment/atmosphere.
Professional Development -Maintain currency in the field through continuing education conferences meetings in-services networking literature and/or seminars. Attend all mandatory CCHMC training sessions. Implement obtained knowledge/skills into ones own work the department and/or the organization. Assume responsibility for ones own professional growth and development. May participate in internal/external professional committees agencies councils and/or activities.
Compliance -Understand and comply with applicable policies guidelines regulations and/or accreditation standards. Document compliance as necessary. Maintain compliance with CCHMC Core Standards and code of ethics. May be responsible for ensuring that work areas are organized and present a safe accessible effective and/or efficient environment for employees patients and/or families.
To primarily provide phlebotomy and other lab sample collection in addition to other laboratory support functions in the Clinical Laboratory department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants children and adolescents.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program
Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification
