The Global Supply Chain team is seeking a Material Planner Intern based in our Reston VA office location. The Material Planner Intern will be responsible for supporting the material acquisition plans for multiple programs within the Leidos Health Homeland and Intel sectors. The Intern will have the ability to work with programs in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish. The Intern will be interfacing with suppliers logistics receiving and strategic sourcing to ensure program milestones are selected candidate will have a desire to be a part of a team enjoy hard work and learn on the job from a team of talented professionals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with the program team to ensure a streamlined procurement process of materials against program requirements.
Maintain reports and monitor material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
Coordinate forecasts workload expediting and acquisition priority with commodity/category team leadership.
Engage in supply chain (supplier to manufacturing) to determine optimal acquisition strategy.
Complete special projects with multi-functional teams.
Manage production and delivery schedules.
Basic Qualifications:
Pursuing a bachelors degree in Supply Chain Logistics Business Administration Finance or a related field.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under tough time constraints.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience including pivot tables charts v-lookups and/or bar charts.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
Ability to work out of our Reston VA office location.
