Prime Air is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Engineer who combines technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. As a Supply Chain Engineer within Amazon Prime Air you will own supplier performance across quality cost and schedule. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our suppliers can meet production rate scale and quality targets while supporting new product introductions and sustaining operations.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazons ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities
- Own supplier performance across quality cost and schedule

- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (process flows build instructions PFMEAs and control plans) to enable consistent and repeatable production.

- Assess and qualify supplier manufacturing capability to meet design intent production rate and scalability requirements through detailed process reviews and onsite audits.

- Build and own should-cost models for key components and assemblies; partner with engineering sourcing and finance to identify cost drivers and opportunities for value engineering.

- Lead technical program management for supplier-driven workstreams aligning build readiness material availability and design milestones

- Review and approve manufacturing process changes ensuring design compliance risk mitigation and smooth implementation through structured change management.

- Plan and execute supplier ramp-ups and new product introductions coordinating technical readiness pilot builds and early production validation.

- Establish performance tracking mechanisms for yield throughput and process capability; leverage metrics to identify and close performance gaps.

- Drive root-cause and corrective action activities to resolve quality delivery and process issues while enabling long-term improvements.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineering sourcing quality and operations to align supplier strategy with product and program objectives.

- Develop and deploy scalable mechanisms to monitor report and continuously improve supplier manufacturing performance.

A day in the life
Each day blends Day 1 innovation with disciplined execution. Youll shift between solving urgent supplier issues building scalable mechanisms and aligning hardware production across teams. One hour youre deep in yield data or a cost model; the next youre on the factory floor driving readiness. This role thrives in ambiguityturning chaos into structure and structure into scalable systems that deliver quality cost and schedule at speed.

About the team
Our team thrives on collaboration ownership and technical excellence. Were a group of self-motivated leaders with deep manufacturing expertise who take on complex challenges work together to remove obstacles and deliver meaningful results at scale.

- 3 years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience in supplier relationship management (e.g. SLAs management performance/scorecarding)
- Experience leading engineering design projects and interacting with cross-functional teams
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% within 24hrs notice.

- 5 years of experience in supplier management or manufacturing engineering for aerospace automotive robotics or high-precision hardware.
- Experience developing and maintaining should-cost models and supporting cost negotiations.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles PPAP PFMEA control plans and process validation.
- Proven track record driving new product introductions (NPI) from prototype through volume production.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel Tableau or equivalent) to track supplier and program performance.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
