Summary:
Set up andoperateCNCLaser machinein accordance withestablished procedures. Commit to making the machine and the process a success.
Essential Functions:
- Verify all equipment safety features areoperatingproperly atbeginningof shift; report any features that are not working properly to shiftleader.
- Observe & Comply withall PPE & other safety requirements.
- Review work instructionsprintsand routers for each job.
- Set up andoperatemachinein accordance withprocedures.
- Utilize measuring devices such asprotractor vernier calipersmicrometer thickness gage machinistsquare etc. to check and verify accuracy of work.
- Work with shiftleaderand others to maximize productivity& efficiency.
- Performs operator preventive maintenance of machine and tooling asrequired.
- May berequiredto program the operation of a CNC press brake.
- Thorough understanding of laser and heavy machinerySAFETY.
- Thorough understanding of sheet metal handlingSAFETY.
- Capable ofreading part drawings and understanding tolerance requirements.
- Capable of safely lifting 50 pounds without the use of lifting equipment.
- Must be capable of understanding and operating laser controls
- Can stand for extended periods of time
AdditionalResponsibilities:
- Will berequiredto obtain a fork truck drivers license.
- Reportmachineand tooling problems tosupervisor.
- May be required toassist maintenancein the repair of laser.
- Maintenance of andsafeguarding ofpersonal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Identifyingandeliminatingunsafe acts.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Recommend drawing changes equipmentchangesor improvements reduce setup time and tooling costs.

Qualifications:
- Must be capable of using common measuring equipment for sheet
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings and process
- High school diploma or GEDREQUIRED
- Ability to distinguish materialtypesincluding aluminum stainless steel
- process
- Willingness toparticipatein continuous improvement
- 2 years CNC machine experienceDESIRED
- Associates degree in Mechanical TechnologyDESIRED
Safety/Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Requires bendingstoopingand standing.
- Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours pr day.(Overtime may extendtimeperiod.)
- Good visual and spatial perception.
- Follow established safety policies including but not limited to mobile equipment PPE emergency response HAZCOM first-aid response etc.
