The NC Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) is the state government agency created to conserve and sustain the states fish and wildlife resources through research scientific management wise use and public input. The NCWRC is the regulatory agency responsible for the enforcement of North Carolinas fishing hunting trapping and boating laws. The agency has an operational budget of approximately $100 million and employs approximately 700 full-time staff and 100 seasonal temporary staff across the state including wildlife and fisheries biologists and technicians wildlife law enforcement officers wildlife educators communication specialists and customer service information technology and administrative professionals. The NCWRC Mission is to conserve North Carolinas wildlife resources and their habitats and provide programs and opportunities that allow hunters anglers boaters and other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy wildlife-associated recreation.
Description of Work
The NC Wildlife Resources Commission Law Enforcement Division employs over 200 Wildlife Officers who patrol fields forests and inland waters at all hours in all 100 North Carolina counties. These officers ensure public compliance with fishing wildlife and boating laws and regulations and enforce the conservation of wildlife resources and provide public safety through both proactive law enforcement and the instruction of quality education.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $31200.00-$54397.00
This position is scheduled for 4am 2 pm (day shift)

Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and sufficient experience to demonstrate an ability to work effectively under pressure situations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications
Must meet the applicable education employment and training standards as required to be Department of Criminal Information (DCI) certified; must be DCI certified or become certified within 120 days of employment.
