The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling production activities to ensure optimal material flow on-time delivery and efficient resource utilization. This role plays a key part in improving performance metrics such as OTIF Backorder Schedule Attainment and Utilization while proactively identifying risks and driving solutions with minimal supervision.
Plan schedule and monitor production and material flow to support on-time delivery
Support Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and material requirements planning
Own and monitor KPIs including OTIF Backorder Safety Stock and material shortages
Partner with Material Planners and Order Management to address shortages and expedite orders
Identify inventory risks and present during S&OP meetings
Analyze root causes of stockouts and drive corrective and preventive actions
Support new product introductions and capacity planning activities
Attend daily management stand-ups and provide planning status updates
Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives
Act as a subject matter expert in supply chain planning including SAP and reporting tools
Bachelors degree in business supply chain data science or equivalent experience
2 years of production planning or related experience
ERP experience preferred (SAP strongly preferred)
Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Excel Word Outlook and PowerPoint
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrates Thermo Fisher Scientific values (Integrity Intensity Involvement Innovation)
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Degree in supply chain science or engineering
2 years of planning experience in SAP or other ERP systems
Office and manufacturing environment
Occasional walking to production areas (PPE required)
Prolonged sitting or standing; occasional lifting up to 10 lbs
