Description of Work

The Office of Administrative Hearings invites qualified HR Professionals to apply for the Human Resources Technician III - position #

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in human resources and a desire to provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Successful candidates will screen applications to determine qualified applicants as well as reviewing hiring packages to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Additional responsibilities include the review of salary recommendations to ensure compliance with salary administration policies. The position will also serve as HR Data Maintainer for PA/OM actions using the states Human Resources Information System Fiori (formerly known as BEACON).

This position works with the HR Director in interpreting and applying human resources and departmental policies to address and resolve issues associated with HR Functions while demonstrating exceptional attention to detail ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Human Resources Generalist providing support in the areas of recruitment time management benefits administration leave of absence position management applicant qualification and salary administration.

The HR Technician III works in partnership with the HR Director division management and employees to ensure that Human Resources policies and procedures are applied in a manner that is consistent with the Office of State Human Resources and OAH strategic addition the position will provide support in the HR/Payroll system - OM/PA actions position management time management and file audits.

Additional duties include processing reimbursement requests entering invoices for payment using NC Financial Management systems.

Applicants must include all relevant work experience to receive consideration in the following areas:

  • Knowledge and professional experience with HR Systems and processes
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Federal & State HR laws and State HR policies procedures and best practices
  • Experience screening job applications using an HR Applicant Tracking System
  • Ability to perform procurement tasks and duties
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Proficiency in Word Excel and other MS products
  • Experience exercising good judgment and discretion in the application and interpretation of personnel policies and procedures.

****Management Preferences****
Experience using North Carolina state government database systems including SAP/FIORI Workday LMS and NCVIP.

Minimum Education and Experience

Associates degree typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required; or 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
