Under administrative direction manages and coordinates a team responsible for implementing patches fixes and application regression testing; oversees the design development and implementation of testing frameworks by applying standard practices and utilizing appropriate tools and methodologies; and delivers ongoing support for quality assurance.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Software quality assurance methodologies tools and processes
Software development life cycle
Test automation tools and frameworks
Query tools such as Oracle PL/SQL Developer
Programming languages and scripting for test automation
Defect tracking systems version control systems and test management platforms
Methods used in database management to organize access test and assess data
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and their testing requirements
Public sector or education sector software systems
Competencies:
Critical Thinking Analytically and logically evaluating information propositions and claims
Decision Making Choosing optimal courses of action in a timely manner
Professional & Technical Expertise Applying technical subject matter to the job
Attention to Detail Focusing on the details of work content work steps and final work products

Oral Communication Engaging effectively in dialogue
Customer Focus Attending to the needs and expectation of customers
Managing Performance Ensuring superior individual and group performance

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:A bachelors degree or higher in computer science software engineering information systems or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience:Five years of experience in planning developing and executing software quality assurance including at least two years in a lead or supervisory role.
Additional Requirements:A valid California drivers license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites may be required.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Performance Exam and Structured Interview.
