In this role youll lead and support comprehensive psychiatric nursing activities aligned with best practices in behavioral health. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting thorough mental status assessments implementing and refining crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies administering prescribed medications with meticulous attention to policy and safety and monitoring for adverse effects. Youll perform risk assessments coordinate care with psychiatrists psychologists social workers and case managers and actively participate in treatment planning and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Documentation in electronic health records will be precise and timely reflecting patient progress and informing ongoing care decisions. Youll also have opportunities for professional growth including pursuing specialty certifications in trauma-informed care or psychopharmacology contributing to quality improvement initiatives and potentially taking on precepting responsibilities to support newer team members.
