Overview
Axle is looking to add a driven flexible organized and meticulous Veterinary Pathologist to our dynamic team. The Contractor(s) shall provide services in support of the overall functions of the Office of Chief Scientist - Integrated Research Facility (OCSIRF) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
Technical Requirements:
Provide pathology services to support animal studies such as provide pathology and histology support by performing necropsies and assessing histologic analyses to support research efforts.
Responsible for postmortem examination (necropsy) in the BSL-4 containment laboratory and documentation of gross observations/diagnoses in support of animal studies.
Provides expertise in the following areas: necropsy (examination data capture and reporting); histopathology (examination data capture and reporting); histology/immunohistochemistry lab operations; histomorphometry operations/analysis; and digital pathology operations/services.
Works with research staff to complete necropsies and sample analyses.
Performs and facilitates gross and histologic examination of samples collected during necropsies including special stains immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization; develops comprehensive written reports.
Additional duties include supporting mission priorities in laboratory setting to complete research studies.
