  • Were looking for a Founding GTM Lead to own one of our biggest priorities - winning the worlds most important tech market - San Francisco. Your mission: Build category defining traction in order to make Jack & Jill the default way that people get jobs in startups in San Francisco.

  • You could be an ex-founder who has built in the Bay Area before an early GTM leader from a top-tier startup a well-networked talent leader or an ex-VC who is ready to build. You are a commercial hustler who knows how to win in SF.

  • $180-300k Total Comp with your choice of equity/cash split (we will also consider higher total comp for candidates who have more experience but are willing to roll their sleeves up in this 0 1 role)

What is the role

Were looking for a Founding Commercial Lead to own Jills go-to-market in San Francisco.

Were running a hub and spoke model with the central GTM for Jack (B2C) and Jill (B2B) run from London with a small but elite generalist team on the ground in key markets (alongside regular founder/exec presence).

Your mission: Make Jill the go-to AI recruiter for SF startups and scaleups. Youll crack the B2B motion - closing companies onboarding them and ensuring they make hires - while building the playbook well use to launch in NYC and beyond.

Youll be one half of our SF founding pair working alongside Arya (our first hire ex-founder).

Together youll work to define and execute the playbook across partnerships (making Jill the go to recco for every VC operating partner) events (running founder and TA focussed dinners) lighthouse customer sales account management etc.

This is a 01 role. Youll start by doing things that dont scale - manual matching coffee chats personal onboarding - to learn the market and build credibility. Then youll systematise those learnings into a repeatable motion we can take to other markets.

Who you are

Were open to exceptional people from a range of backgrounds but you likely fit one of these archetypes:

The Talent Insider Youve been a TA leader at a scaling startup worked at a recruiting tech company or sold to talent teams. You know the pain points the workflows the objections. You speak the language and have instant credibility with TA buyers.

The Ex-Founder Youve built something before in the Bay Area. You know how to sell and feedback to the rest of the team on what the market is saying. You can wear many hats in a 01 environment and you have a deep existing network and credibility.

The Early GTM Builder You were an early sales or partnerships hire at a rocketship. Youve taken something from $0 to $1M ARR. You know how to close deals and build a repeatable motion from scratch.

The VC Platform / Talent Partner Youve spent time in VC helping portfolio companies hire. You know the ecosystem youve run events youve made introductions. Now you want to stop advising and start building.

Youll Be a Great Fit If:

Youre a high-agency full-stack operator. Youll be acting as the founder of the region for us. That means figuring out what needs to get done and making it happen - from closing a deal to fixing a broken onboarding to hosting a dinner for 20 founders.

You have an existing SF network. You can get meetings that cold outbound cant. Whether from founding operating VC or talent leadership - youre already plugged into the ecosystem.

Youre AI-native. You instinctively reach for AI tools or automation before brute-forcing a problem. If youd manually research 200 companies instead of building a workflow to do it in 10 minutes this isnt the role for you.

You understand the TA buyer. Youve either been one sold to them or worked closely with them. You know why theyre skeptical of AI solutions what makes them say yes and how to earn their trust.

Youre an ambitious overachiever. You have a history of holding yourself to an exceptionally high bar. Youre driven by a desire to be part of an elite team doing career-defining work.

Youre a great communicator and self motivated. Youll be 8 hours behind London building semi-independently. Youll need to over-communicate share learnings proactively and represent J&J as our US brand ambassador.

This Role Isnt For You If:

You want a predictable 9-to-5. Were building an extremely ambitious company at speed. The work is intense. We value your life outside work but were a team that does what it takes to win.

You need a highly-structured environment. Were in the ambiguous chaotic thrilling phase of 01. Youll be creating the structure not operating within it.

You need to be at HQ. Youll be out on a limb - our only commercial presence on the West Coast alongside Arya. Youll travel to London periodically but most days youre building independently.

You want to immediately build a team. This is an IC role. Theres potential for it to grow into leadership but right now youll be running events closing deals onboarding customers and doing the work yourself.
