What will you do
As a Principal Product Manager you will lead new large product initiatives to define the long-term strategy and vision to meet emerging customer needs. You will handle complex product development and business management scenarios proactively identifying gaps/opportunities to then develop a suite of products to solve the problems.
The ideal candidate has a strong logistics/supply chain and product management background combined with a solid understanding of current technologies. S/he can develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives but also roll up their sleeves dig in and get the job done. Maturity strong business judgment ability to influence cross-functional and remote teams a customer-centric and creative mindset with strong analytical skills are essential. This opportunity requires excellent product management prioritization and communication skills as well as the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Key job responsibilities
- Define a data-driven product vision detailed requirements and prioritize competing opportunities.
- Work directly with stakeholders and engineering to build exceptional products.
- Partner with other teams across Amazon Shipping Product and Tech to identify and influence development of new products and services.
- Understand customer (external and internal) needs define clear project plans and execute to high expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Interact with stakeholders at multiple levels and in multiple locations working with business operations tech and BI teams to define and deliver solutions.
- Anticipate bottlenecks provide escalation management and make tradeoffs to balance business needs versus technical or operational constraints.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders in other regions to define requirements that support international use cases.
- Define user stories and product requirements; while contributing to the technical design of new product features.
- About 10% travel required.
A day in the life
- Start your morning analyzing overnight pickup performance and routing efficiency metrics identifying patterns like why shippers had delayed pickups or where routes are running inefficiently
- Build and refine models that optimize forecasting and routing decisions in real-time determining which driver vehicle and route minimizes costs while maintaining pickup reliability when shippers schedule pickups
- Collaborate with operations teams across US UK and EU markets translating real-world routing challenges (like unnecessary box truck dispatches) into algorithm improvements
- Drive strategic cost reduction initiatives working to cut first-mile costs per package and reduce inefficient infinity routes through smarter capacity planning
- Develop predictive systems that prevent operational failures building tools to predict zero-volume days create same-day pickup recovery options and reduce missed pickups
- Balance technical depth with business impact moving between writing routing algorithms presenting cost savings to leadership and debugging specific route optimization issues across markets
- 8 years of technical product or program management experience
- 2 years of end to end product delivery experience
- Bachelors degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience technical product management
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies business analysis or process improvement

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
