H&S and Soil Characterization Intern

Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a Soil Characterization Intern with a technical background (engineering geology or related discipline) who will be involved in the planning and organization of environmental investigation on different sites all over Italy with a strong focus on Health&Safety management.

Role accountabilities:

• Supporting the Project Manager in planning and organizing environmental soil investigations for sites in different market sectors (Energy Logistics Industrial);
• Dealing with field geologists and subcontractors on site;
• Preparing the preliminary safety documentation for the site activities according to national legislation;
• Preparing the preliminary Clients permits/certifications requested for the site activities according to their internal quality management system;
• Engaging with the Clients H&S people to ensure compliance with legal and internal requirements;
• Collaborating in the preparation of final investigation technical reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Engineering Geology Environmental Sciences or equivalent qualification;
• Basic knowledge of environmental regulations (.152/06) and workplace safety laws (. 81/08);
• Genuine interest in safety management;
• Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks;
• Strong interpersonal verbal and written skills;
• Proficiency in MS Office suite;
• Excellent language level in Italian and English (B2 or above).

Work Location: Milan (hybrid)
Contract Type: Internship 40-hours work week.
