Position Overview:

The Positive Support Professional develops and implements individualized behavior support plans monitors client progress and coaches staff and caregivers in positive support practices. This role ensures services are delivered safely effectively and in alignment with client goals and organizational standards.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individualized functional behavior assessmentsto guide support strategies.
  • Collaborate with individuals and their teams to develop person-centered positive-practice behavior support plansand/or positive support transition plans.
  • Ensure timely distributionof behavior support plans to individuals and their care teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectivenessof interventions and supports.
  • Modify plansas needed based on ongoing data and individual progress.
  • Deliver onsite training and instructional supportto staff and caregivers on implementing positive supports.
Required Qualification and Experience:

Applicants must meet at least one of the following licensure/credentialing requirements:

  • Masters or PhD in behavioral science or related field with demonstrated expertise in positive supports
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with either:
    • National certification as a clinical specialist or nurse practitioner in psychiatric/mental health nursing
    • Masters in nursing/behavioral science and 4000 hours of supervised clinical experience
Additional Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a social servicesrelated fieldOR2 years of experience in providing PSS/behavioral health services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of functional assessments data collection and positive behavior supports
  • Understanding of mental health neurocognitive and developmental disorders
  • Ability to train and support direct care teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Valid drivers license clean driving record and personal vehicle with insurance

Compensation:$30- $36 per hour
Type:Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Location:Twin Cities Metro

Physical & Mental Requirements:

Employees in this role must be able to:

  • Walk stand sit bend climb stairs use a ladder and perform crisis prevention/intervention techniques
  • Use hands for writing typing and data entry
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally exert physical effort during duties
  • Maintain vision and hearing necessary for reading charts operating office equipment using a computer and driving a vehicle
