Registered Nurse Adjunct Assistant Professor Pool

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Adjunct positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment.

This position is filled on an as needed basis for all campuses/locations. Applicants are contacted/hired year-round for assignments based on District needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years in May.

Applicants in this pool will remain active until the pool is refreshed and will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

The instructional assignment may encompass teaching courses across all levels in this discipline. Courses for this assignment may include:

• Medical-surgical nursing
• Theory and Clinical practices in the Associate Degree Nursing Program

• ARC Programs and Majors
• CRC Programs and Majors
• FLC Programs and Majors
• SCC Programs and Majors

1. Masters in nursing ORBachelors in nursing ANDMasters in health education or health science; ORthe equivalent ORthe minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing whichever is higher. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire.
2. Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area which can be met by A or B below:
   1. (A) One (1) year continuous full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in medical surgical nursing; OR
   2. (B) One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in medical surgical nursing or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency.
3. Completion of at least one (1) year experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing.
4. Hold and maintain a current California Registered Nurse (RN) license with no disciplinary actions by time of hire.
5. Have an equity-minded focus responsiveness and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

• Degree titles must match the stated qualifications exactly (word-for-word).
• If the degree title differs or if it contains added missing or rearranged words applicants mustsubmit a completed Equivalency Determination Request Form for the application to be considered. See theEquivalency Determination Process webpage for details.
  • Example: If a masters in Psychology is required but the transcript lists Counseling Psychology and that title is not listed in the Minimum Qualifications an Equivalency Determination Request Form must be submitted.
• Previously granted equivalency in the discipline applying for mustbe attached for verification. Email for a replacement copy.

• Transcripts must be from an accredited U.S. institutions or approved foreign evaluation agency.
• Foreign transcript evaluations must be issued by an AICE (Association of International Credential Evaluation Inc.) or NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) member agency. See the Foreign Transcript Evaluation webpage for details.
• Transcripts mustclearly identify the degree(s) being used to meet the Minimum Qualifications.
• If more than one degree is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications (e.g. a bachelors and a masters) transcripts for each degree must be included.
• Transcripts must show the degree title and indicate whether each degree is completed or in progress.
• If the degree is in progress the application must state the month and year the degree is expected to be attained.
