Job Summary

1.0 FTE Core Grade 7/8 and French Teacher

Len Wood Middle School

This is a temporary assignment effective immediately to March 14 2026 or to return of teacher to full contractual FTE.

This assignment includes teaching French 6-8 Core 7/8 Math and Science

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Arts or Science or Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary training)
Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.

Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes:

demonstrated successful teaching experience with middle school aged students;
a working knowledge of the current curriculum;
awillingness to bepart of the LWMS middle school team;
ability to comfortably work with and respond to a very involved parent community;
demonstrated ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies and assessment methods;
evidence of ability to effectively use current assessment practices;
demonstrated ability to use effective teaching practices in relation to the three principles of learning;
evidence of ability to motivate middle school students;
committed to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning;
ability to create a sense of belonging for students;
excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a member of a grade level team and the entire Len Wood Middle School team;
excellent classroom management skills;
understanding of middle school philosophy and adolescent development;
understanding of restitution practices;
commitment to involving parents in the learning of their children;
