We are hiring up to two (2) full-time permanent Engineering Technologist position working out of Edmonton AB.
As the Engineering Technologist you are accountable for assisting the Water and Sewer Servicing (WASS) team in coordinating infill and development projects with various levels of complexity from inception to execution using sound engineering and project practices personal initiative and interpersonal skills working closely with external and internal stakeholders.

What youd be responsible for
- Executing project activities and meeting milestones including coordinating reviews and approvals with the City of Edmonton.
- Coordinating infill development projects from initiation to completion with internal and external teams.
- Educating customers on design requirements and guiding New Service Application submissions.
- Adjusting project execution strategies to ensure targets are achieved.
- Assisting in developing budget estimates and coordinating service installations with WDT and WWC teams.
- Completing project tracking documentation approvals and closeout requirements.
- Monitoring and reporting on departmental performance metrics.
- Implementing processes to ensure compliance with policies standards and regulatory requirements.
- Engaging leadership promptly when issues require escalation.
- Coordinating with stakeholders and conducting site visits to ensure safety and project objectives are met.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Whats required to be successful
Qualifications experience andbehaviours you possess are:
- Completion of a Diploma in Civil Engineering (or a related field such as Design and Drafting) from a recognized post-secondary educational institute and an accredited engineering technology program.
- Membership with ASET as a CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) or eligibility for membership.
- 4-6 years of directly related experience.
- Knowledge of water and sewer systems including engineering design principles and construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of applicable bylaws standards and regulations including Water and Drainage Bylaws EPCOR Design & Construction Standards Lot Grading Guidelines Provincial Legislation the Condo Act Zoning Bylaw and Building and Plumbing Codes.
- Understanding of internal mechanical plumbing and building system fundamentals.
- Understanding and interpreting a wide range of engineering plans including historical drawings.
- Completing invert and obvert calculations determining crossing elevations and identifying potential conflicts.

You take initiative manage competing priorities and continuously look for opportunities to improve work processes. You also show adaptability strong problemsolving skills and a willingness to embrace change. Coursework or certifications in project management or leadership further strengthen your profile.

- Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
