Job Summary
Were looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Koddis Reporting & Insights team. This team owns the data services and infrastructure that power analytics across Koddis platformreporting here is a core product capability not a downstream afterthought.
Youll help evolve our reporting platform toward greater scale correctness and self-service while delivering meaningful customer-facing features. This role is well-suited for engineers who enjoy operating production systems at scale exercising sound engineering judgment and contributing to the direction of a professionally run data platform.
What Youll Do
Building & Operating
- Design build and maintain backend services and APIs that support high-volume analytics workloads across our Go-based service layer
- Own schema design and query performance for our SingleStore analytical database with data pipelines running through Databricks
- Define and manage service health through SLOs dashboards and alerting in Datadogwe take observability seriously
Evolving the Platform
- Help steer the evolution of our reporting platform: reducing manual workflows improving operability and enabling self-service capabilities
- Balance delivery of high-impact features with long-term system healthmaking deliberate tradeoffs not reactive ones
Craft & Collaboration
- Partner with product and cross-functional teams to shape reporting requirements and drive delivery decisions
- Mentor engineers through design reviews operational guidance and incident leadership
Who You Are
- Strong backend experience in Go (preferred) or similar languages with expertise building APIs (REST/gRPC)
- Advanced SQL skills with a focus on analytical query patterns and performance optimization
- Experience designing and operating event-driven systems streaming pipelines or ETL workflows
- Comfort with cloud-native containerized systems and infrastructure-as-code
- Strong observability instinctsyouve built dashboards defined SLOs and debugged production issues with traces and logs
- Real experience operating systems at scale: on-call rotations incident response and the rigor required to run reliable services
- Experience with large-scale reporting or analytics platforms in production preferred
- Track record of improving system reliability performance and de-buggability through pragmatic engineering decisions preferred
- Familiarity with safely evolving data models in customer-facing systems preferred
Your First 6 Months
- Youll start by getting hands-on with our reporting services and data layer pairing with the team on active work. Within the first few months youll own the delivery of a meaningful feature or improvement end-to-end. By month six youll be contributing to architectural decisions participating in on-call and helping shape where the platform goes next.
