Sanford Health has an opening for a BC/BE Pediatric Nephrologist to join the regions largest team of board certified fellowship-trained pediatricians and pediatric specialists.
Team consists of a BC pediatric nephrologist clinical support staff and pediatric trained dialysis staff
Scope of practice includes outpatient clinic and inpatient consults treating acute and chronic kidney disease congenital renal anomalies glomerulonephritis kidney stones high blood pressure dialysis therapy and coordinated follow up care for post kidney transplant patients
Support from the largest team of more than 65 board certified fellowship-trained pediatricians and pediatric specialists in more than 25 medical specialties including general surgery orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery
Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
Brand new Sanford Medical Center houses a 12 bed PICU with additional flex beds if needed. Floor shared with 20-24 bed pediatric unit and 40-bed Level III NICU
Sanford Health Fargo serves a large catchment area of 1.2 million throughout ND MN and parts of SD and MT
Joint appointment as clinical faculty with Department of Pediatrics at UND School of Medicine and Health Science teaching medical students & family medicine residents as well as an upcoming pediatric residency in 2024

Job Description
Pediatric Nephrology Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination admit (if applicable to setting) evaluate diagnose and provide treatment or consultative services to infants children adolescents and young adults presenting with illnesses and disorders of the kidneys. These kidney disorders could include congenital anomalies acute kidney injury chronic kidney disease fluid and electrolyte abnormalities and end-stage renal disease urinary tract infections voiding dysfunctions nephrolithiasis renal transplant acute and chronic glomerular diseases genetic syndromes tubular disorders and cystic diseases.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.
Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed a fellowship provides his/her fellowship log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a fellowship shall provide a quality profile from the hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 12 months including numbers of procedures performed morbidity mortality infection rates and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services of at least 50 patients in the last 12 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges documentation of the applicants clinical setting activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months. More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
Successful completion of a Pediatric residency program and completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology accredited by the ACGME the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than the above may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy. Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
