Reports To: Organization Summary: | Chief Clinical Officer Founded in 1970 by a behavioral health hospital and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1983 TLC is an entrepreneurial social enterprise committed to transforming lives and communitiesone moment one choice one connection at a time. Headquartered in Pennsylvania TLC operates across multiple states providing K-12 alternative education comprehensive mental and behavioral health services coaching counseling and trauma-informed training. Additionally TLC collaborates with school districts universities hospitals police departments and nonprofit organizations offering consultation services to secure federal and state grant funding. |
Summary: | Each therapeutic emotional support classroom will be led by a Special Education Teacher responsible for planning implementing and delivering high-quality individualized instruction tailored to each students academic needs. |
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: | - Developing individualized learning strategies based upon students IEPs.
- Planning organizing and assigning activities specific to each students abilities.
- Assessing students progress and determining the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
- Employing and implementing a classroom structure to encourage student responsibility cooperation and mutual respect consistent with TLC and MPS policies and procedures.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss student goals progress and interventions.
- Integrating social emotional learning and coping strategies into daily lessons.
- Working in collaboration with Licensed Mental Health Professionals and Behavior Mentors to support students positive behavior changes.
- Maintaining accurate records of student performance attendance and behavior.
- Ensuring compliance with federal state and district regulations.
- Completing all district and state reporting requirements.

Education and Experience: | - A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education Special Education or related field a Masters degree preferred.
- Valid Wisconsin certification in Special Education instruction.
- Prior experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges preferably in a therapeutic setting.
- Knowledge and experience with IEP software.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
- Trained as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) within one year of employment.
- Ability to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to effectively communicate with MPS leadership MPS staff program staff students parents and key stakeholders.
- Preference will be given to bilingual individuals.

Hours of Work: | This is a full-time 40 hours per week position. |
