Performs patient care health teaching and health counseling in an oncology setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN); assists in the goal of individualizing the care of patients in an attempt to support the patients to adapt to the disease process and achieve the highest level of wellness; performs routine nursing care procedures; screens performs venipuncture and monitors plateletpheresis and whole blood donor procedures; maintains donor and product safety ensuring compliance with State and Federal procedure regulations; enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs current literature in-service meetings and workshops.Salary range for this position is $56422 annually - $68070 annually which consists of a base salary and geographic differential. This includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications skills and experience.
Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceLicense Requirement
License or permit to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing schools LPN program.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include experience working in an ambulatory clinic within a hospital setting or in an acute care environment. Previous experience at Roswell is highly desirable. Candidates with phlebotomy experience dermatology experience and hands-on involvement with clinic-based procedures will be given strong consideration.
