About this Position
Perform patient care duties; recognize acute situations and determine priorities. Interview patient to obtain history related to presenting symptoms. Knowledge of emergency procedures i.e. CPR Heimlich air way maintenance and seizure precautions. Assist practitioner in examination. Competent in administration of PO ID SQ and IM medications; inhalation treatments and wound care. IV certification/training a plus. Capable of some independent action and decision making but works under supervision of an RN or practitioner. Instructs patient in how to safely continue treatment at home management of any side-effects recognition of complications outcome of treatment and recommended follow-up. Possibility of exposure to contagious diseases medical waste blood and body fluids latex etc. Ability to lift patients and some equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
One year of clinical nursing experience.
- Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:
Current Oklahoma LPN license and current/ valid CPR certification.
- Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Ability to perform all assigned tasks under direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical
Three plus years experience preferred. IV certification/training is preferred. Will be expected to obtain after hire if not already certified.
