Client: State of Kansas

Location: Topeka Kansas

Interview type: Webcam or In-person

Work arrangement: (Remote - must be within 1 hour commute)

Work arrangement: Mostly remote work however we are primarily looking for candidates within commuting distance to Topeka KS.

Note: This position works on W2 C2C and 1099 as well.

Brief Description of Job Duties:

Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for existing data systems and future data warehousing in conjunction with data users department managers clients and other key stakeholders. Coordinate and work with technical staff to develop database architectures coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures. Design and implement redundant systems policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability protection and integrity of data assets.

General Duties:

Oversee data collection master data and databases.
Create models for new data warehouse development and/or changes to existing data stores.
Design and manage data warehouse development and any future improvement and growth projects.
Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data systems and leverage solutions to ensure data standards.
Diagnose and resolve data system and/or data warehouse access and performance issues.
Oversee and enforce Data Governance policies.

Skills required:

Working technical experience with strategically designing and implementing data warehouses data marts and data stores.
Strong understanding of relational database structures theories principles and practices.
Effective written and oral communications in order to establish and maintain good rapport with business and agency staff for effective and timely problem identification and resolution of problems.

Knowledge and ability to utilize the current version of the following products:

- Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint
- .Net (Visual Basic C#) Java or other modern development languages
- SQL Database
- Azure DevOps
- Windows Server OS functions/commands
- SQL Management Studio
- SQL (language)
- Visual Studio

Experience required:

Eight (8) years direct experience relative to the field of work with at least five (5) years direct experience with data architecting data mining large-scale data modeling and business requirements gathering/analysis.

Education required:

Bachelors degree in computer science information technology a related engineering field or equivalent work experience.
