Job Title:Radiologic Technologist
Job Location: Rockford IL
Contract 13 weeks (Possibly Extension)
Job Description:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Minimum of 2 years experience required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
ARRT Radiography registration required
IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois
- Performs diagnostic radiographic portable c-arm and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Reviews patients clinical history ensuring that appropriate order placed and labs are within range as needed- reviewing with radiologist as necessary
- Provides patient education.
- Selects and operates imaging equipment image capture devices and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
- Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Initiates basic life support when necessary.
- Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors.
- Follows ALARA principles through accurate exposure factors and radiographic techniques.
- Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient self and others.
- Reports and documents XR/FL safety incidents/adverse events per protocol.
- Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
- Uses radiology information systems (including PACS) completes all required records and reports submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.
- Assist with medical record/image sharing as necessary.
- Documents all information pertinent to XR/FL procedure in electronic medical record to include medication reconciliation
- Provides practical instruction for radiography students and partners.
- Applies principles of patient safety during procedures including assisting and transporting patients.
- Operates mobile radiologic equipment in operating room emergency room or at patients bedside.
- Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
- Prepares contrast media and assists in administration.
- Instruction and expert training to new technologists
- Adjust and coordinate patient and staff schedules as needed
- Expert level knowledge of electronic medical record PACS and imaging equipment
